Rectangle and squares

I.          Rectangles
a.       Understanding of Rectangles
·   A rectangle is a quadrilateral with two pairs of parallel sides.
·   A rectangle has two axis of symmetry and all four angles are right angles
·   A rectangle has 2nd grade rotational symmetry
b.       Properties of a rectangle
·   A rectangle can fill to its frame in four ways
·   Opposite sides are equal in length (AB=CD and AD=BC)
·   Its two diagonal are equal in length (AC=BD)
·   Its two diagonal bisect each other (OA=OC and OB=OD)

II.           Squares
a.       Understanding of Squares
·   A Square is a quadrilateral with two pairs of parallel sides.
·   A Square has four axis of symmetry
·   A Square has 4nd grade rotational symmetry
·
b.       Properties of a Square
·   A Square can fill to its frame in eight ways
·   The length of each side of any square is equal
·   Its four diagonal are equal in length
·   Its four diagonals of a square are the bisectors and form four right angles.
